Testimonials

Ryan and us have a daily retro meeting where he shared feedback about this trip. We think he really appreciate the experience he gained, so far, from this trip. It is unlike the other trips he had previously, not only had he learnt being independent, he seemed to be more helpful to others who are in need.

As a parent, we would highly recommend this kind of trip to other kids. It helps them to be more respectful and appreciate Mother Nature. I know Ryan volunteer himself to join this trip, as a father, I am more than 102% supportive of his own decision.

Believe our kids have learnt how to overcome hardship and work at one team to achieve the same goal. Reckon many kids are naturally thrive when faced with challenges, while others may feel unprepared. Those who have trouble persevering often haven’t learned to manage common emotions such as boredom and disappointment. Since these emotions are part of everyone’s life, we, as a parent, should avoid shielding our kids from every challenge they face. Definitely encourage to share this experience next year again.

As faculty we tend to see only one dimension of our students, who performs best on the test or exams or essay assignments. But there are so many other dimensions to our students. I have truly been so impressed by our students talents and abilities and they have led by example. I am privileged to be here, part of this selfless service. Its a win win, they are giving to the world and learning what they can do and what they’re made of.

I had the utmost pleasure of recently working with World Volunteer in Northern Thailand. World Volunteer ran a family service trip for us in the fall of 2017. In my capacity as the Elementary School Vice Principal, I worked closely with the representatives from World Volunteer to plan an enriching and memorable experience for some of our families. Over thirty participants enjoyed a week of making clay brinks and repairing an adobe mud house for a village. As well, the exceptional team at World Volunteer planned other activities for our families to participate in that exposed them to the rich culture of the village we were lucky enough to be staying in.

We used World Volunteer for the first time last year, and have plans to repeat the activity
again this year. From the onset I have been impressed by their professionalism, local
knowledge, and ability to cater for the needs of my school. World Volunteer offer a unique programme that offers numerous opportunities for student learning, with developing an understanding of social entrepreneurship and how it can positively impact a community being an obvious highlight.
