Creativity, Activity and Service
WV creates high impact service-learning experiences for our volunteer students whose schools understand and want to accelerate positive social change. We do real projects with significant outcomes.
One example is the Eco Bungalow project in Laos, which is an ongoing income generating initiative that was constructed by students in collaboration with the local community. By doing purposeful activities like construction work we believe that the students will not only learn to do physical labor but also the power of teamwork and the value of good communication. For many students who join a WV trip, it is typically a step out of their comfort zone.
It will be a personal challenge, with a new daily routine, from which they will learn more about themselves and others. By learning and respecting different beliefs the students will broaden their perspectives and understandings. Students doing their CAS project with us will learn how to reflect and be compassionate thinkers.
