The trip was organized and paced with activities, meals, and accommodations. The WV staff was by far the greatest strength of the program – they made great connections with our students!
Teacher from trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand
This trip definitely fulfilled the CAS requirements! It was a nice balance between service, culture, history and current issues. I like it that the experience also got students out of their comfort zones and they experienced something different.
Teacher from trip to Cambodia
An excellent experience. I had my worries about how the kids would handle the village and village life, but those worries disappeared right away. Everyone was so open, friendly, and amazing.
Teacher from trip to Laos
My favorite part about the trip was being able to help out and providing support where needed on the project site! And having fun while doing so. Also being able to do these activities with old friends and making new ones!
Student from trip to Bali
As faculty we tend to see only one dimension of our students, who performs best on the test or exams or essay assignments. But there are so many other dimensions to our students. I have truly been so impressed by our students’ talents and abilities and they have led by example. I am privileged to be part of this selfless service. It’s a win-win, they are giving to the world and learning what they can do and what they’re made of.

Before we came on this trip we had a very narrow definition of what service was. But once we came here we realized it’s much more than that. It’s about interacting with the community, exchanging cultures

This was a life changing experience. It makes me think of what to do next when I go home to make some change.

I just spent a week in Laos for a service trip. The experience was amazing, and it helped me strengthen and develop my many weaknesses. My time living in the village was very exciting and different to my daily life in Hong Kong. I learnt about Laos, hiked for a total of 6 hours, and went through different obstacles. It was a memorable week that I will never forget.
