What To Expect

Southern Thailand boasts dozens of pristine beaches which host nesting sea turtles. Now due to pollution and climate change, the turtles are left with few untouched nurseries – dramatically reducing their population and putting them on the endangered species list.

Students will visit a sea turtle conservation center, founded to rescue sick and injured adult turtles and to release baby turtles into the wild. We’ll get hands on with cleaning the turtles’ enclosures and building enrichment items. A snorkelling trip to the Similan Islands will also offer students a chance to see these beautiful creatures in the wild in their natural coral reef habitats.

Mangroves play an important role in the marine ecosystem and we’ll get up close and personal at the Tha Din Daeng community project. Students will kayak through the mangroves and get their hands dirty planting trees and collecting trash as part of efforts to restore this vital natural resource.

But it’s not all work, the trip is rounded out with some adventure activities like surfing and hiking, as well as some culture with a cooking class and Muay Thai training session.
