What To Expect

Mongolia’s iconic nomadic culture is threatened by a confluence of factors destroying natural forests. Destructive insects, unlawful cutting, and forest fires over the past twenty years have reduced the forest areas, plus poor livestock practices and natural resource mismanagement have turned grasslands into deserts. This project supports reforestation through tree planting at key sites to improve outcomes and preserve the way of life for nomadic herders facing desertification.

Live as a nomadic herder this week, trekking between sites to set up our yurts each night. Along the way, plant trees in nomadic pastures and spare forests in the Terelj National Park to support government efforts to reforest the steppes of Mongolia.
