What To Expect

Malaysia holds the highest diversity of mangrove plant species in the world, but half of its mangroves have been lost through farming, development, illegal logging, and pollution. Peninsular Malaysia’s coastline is therefore threatened by erosion. This trip takes us to a nature reserve that is one of the most sustainable projects for mangrove conservation.

Expect to engage in sustainable initiatives that contribute to regrowth of mangroves and reduction of environmental degradation. Through collecting seeds and seedlings for replanting, and planting more mature trees, students will get their hands dirty and learn about the effects on the local community. Enjoy kayaking, white water rafting, and caving, while also enjoying time in Malaysia’s capital city.
