Volunteering in India is a fantastic way to learn from people in need and experience the
world’s most colorful country. Volunteering with our local partner Women’s Education for Development Trust (WED Trust) is a learning experience where you as a volunteer can get hands on experience to a large variety of development programs within the beautiful state of Tamil Nadu.
These programs are organized to give maximum opportunities to the volunteers to visit project locations, to interact with the communities, learn about different development approaches and tools that are responsible to the environment and the people and to understand the cultural and social settings in which these happen.
Travel to India and experience different approaches implemented to provide education opportunities for disadvantaged children. The school has a profile of empowering and educating the students not just with schoolbooks but also from other activities such as sports and music. The school allows free education for the Arunthathiyar children (the lowest caste in India) who are denied good quality education because of their poverty and social status.
As a volunteer in the school you will be involved in a large variety of programs and projects. If you are someone who loves being around people and help children’s Right To get an Education, this is the program for you.

The members of the Self Help Group (SHG) have agreed to save and use a fund for economic development. The groups participate in several trainings provided by WED Trust helping them improve their small businesses.
Help, get inspired and involved together with the Self Help Group program. Use your creativity and interpersonal skills to develop small-scale businesses.
