COPE volunteer
COPElaos in partnerships with World Volunteer (10 weeks)

COPE is a local non-profit organisation that works to provide access to orthopedic/prosthetic devices and rehabilitation services, including Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.

The internship includes assisting the Lao staff in the development of the visitors centre, development of new methods for fundraising, plan and take part in fundraising activities such as concerts, fairs and exhibitions.

Oxfam international in partnership with World Volunteer (10 weeks)

Oxfam is an international confederation of 15 organisations, working together with partners and allies around the world to find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.

As a summer intern at Oxfam Australia you will be based in Vientiane, assisting local staff with writing reports, English language training and program development. You will also participate in field trips to some of Oxfam’s project villages assisting the projects.

Stora Enso internships abroad
Sustainable forestry and CSR at Stora Enso/Burapha Group (10 weeks)

The Stora Enso/Burapha Group plantation project in the southern part of the Lao PDR is a project aiming to plant 35000 hectare of commercially viable wood, as social responsibility is important for the operations in Laos.

The company assists cooperating villages with food security, promotes education and health care and small business development. There are opportunities to assist and learn in the marketing-, logistics- and operations departments.

Multimedia and Public Relations at Sunlabob (10 weeks)

Sunlabob is a full-service energy provider, selling hardware and providing commercially viable energy services for remote areas where the public electricity grid does not yet reach. Sunlabob provides training for rural entrepreneurs enabling the entrepreneurs to install and service the technologies of Sunlabob and run their business as a franchise.

As an intern with the marketing department you´ll be designing and producing printed and online marketing and advertising material, develop new PR strategies and assist in the production of promotional videos.

Sunlabob is a full-service energy provider, selling hardware and providing commercially viable energy services for remote areas where the public electricity grid does not yet reach. Sunlabob provides training for rural entrepreneurs enabling the entrepreneurs to install and service the technologies of Sunlabob and run their business as a franchise.

Within this program you´ll be providing support in various urban and rural engineering projects, get involved in capacity building of local technicians and operators and produce installation reports.

Sunlabob – Corporate Social Respinsibilty (CSR) Intern

Sunlabob is a full-service energy provider, selling hardware and providing commercially viable energy services for remote areas where the public electricity grid does not yet reach. Sunlabob provides training for rural entrepreneurs enabling the entrepreneurs to install and service the technologies of Sunlabob and run their business as a franchise.

The internship within the CSR department at Sunlabob, includes tasks such as research on corporate sustainability standards and development of a corporate sustainability strategy for Sunlabob.

Tiger Trail – Business Development Intern

Tiger Trail Outdoor Adventures is a local adventure tour operator based in Luang Prabang, Laos. As a pioneer in sustainable and community-based tourism the company was founded more than 10 years ago still undergoing constant challenges and changes. The company is lead by an international management team and has a growing team of motivated employees.

You will work closely with the management and the founder, Markus Neuer, to take Tiger Trail business into new directions. You will be investigating new ventures, conducting research on new markets, service elements and potential in which Tiger Trail could expand their business.

Tiger Trail Fair Trek – Assistant Manager

Tiger Trail Outdoor Adventures is a local adventure tour operator based in Luang Prabang, Laos. As a pioneer in sustainable and community-based tourism the company was founded more than 10 years ago still undergoing constant challenges and changes. The company is lead by an international management team and has a growing team of motivated employees.

Tiger Trail set up the “Fair Trek” project in 2007. Fair Trek aims to generate alternative income, and support inter-cultural exchange, education and development for the remote villages in Laos. You will become the second hand to the sustainable tourism manager. Day to day work varies with season and projects and you should be prepared for excel spreadsheets as well as site assessments of remote villages.
