We take pride in what we have achieved but we know that more can be done. Development is challenging and requires long term perspective and commitment. To succeed, you need to have knowledge in the area and culture in which you operate, build close relationships with local authorities and most importantly have trust and a shared commitment with the people you are trying to help.
Over the past five years, World Volunteer has significantly increased the number of program participants. Through a strategic outreach plan, World Volunteer has been able to attract many new partners primarily in the South East Asia region. We plan to continue to strengthen and expand our base within this region while simultaneously exploring new partners globally.
World Volunteer is responsible for all development projects including the cooperation with the villages. We undertake a five year commitment to all partnering villages in order to maintain the sustainability of the project. We recognize that alone we can do little, together we can do much so even though we take full responsibility for the entire trip, we collaborate with local guides and transportation is provided by local partner companies in Laos and Thailand.
‘’During the past five years, World Volunteer has gone through significant changes as the organization has grown. Much thanks to our partnerships, World Volunteer has been able to make key investments in areas such as organization infrastructure, online training, risk management, program development, operational processes and marketing. World Volunteer is committed to continuing to expand and improve the program, invest in village cooperation and strengthen the team’s knowledge and skill set.’’
